It’s that time of year once again where we find ourselves wrapping up another year of ministry. This week we hosted our last Crosswalks of the year at Rio Grande and Ohio University. After a year off due to Covid, we will also be hosting ROC’s annual Year End Bash. Bash is our last big event of the academic year where we celebrate all that God has done in our community, say “goodbye” to our graduating seniors, and share one last meal together before heading our separate ways for the summer.
Although this past academic year was one unlike any other, we have so much to celebrate and be thankful for in the ROC community. 2020 saw ROC’s first ever ministry plant at the University of Rio Grande. This has been an incredible blessing, and I believe that the foundation that we have laid there over the course of the past year is going to be the start of something incredible that God is doing on campus. We’ve also seen God do some awesome work in the lives of students on both campuses over the course of the past year, and for that we call this year a success!
As things slowly return to normal, ROC is ready to spring back into action, doing what we love to do. So, with that in mind, we are excited to announce that we are heading to New Orleans to serve with Crossroads Mission once again! A team of students from OU, Rio Grande, and a few adults are heading to the Crescent City May 8th through the 16th. In addition to ministry opportunities, our team will be working on some roofing projects to address damage caused by hurricanes. We are excited to be returning to see our friends and ministry partners and pick up where we left off in the summer of 2019.
In addition to New Orleans, I am also excited to see ROC staff and students serving all over the U.S. this summer. Noelle will be serving alongside former ROC intern and former ROC student leader Evan Lynch and Darrin Will at Ohio Valley Christian Camp this summer for senior high week of camp. The same week I will be traveling to Round Lake Christian Camp, just outside of Loudonville, Ohio to be the speaker for Paintball Camp. In late July I will also be traveling to Lake James Christian Camp in Angola, Indiana to participate in their missions week where I will be working with high school and middle school students.
I want to say “thank you” to each of you who have prayed for the ministry of ROC, continued to support us, and helped carry us through this past year. I know that without your faithful support we wouldn’t have been able to celebrate all of the successes of the past year.
