Hey everyone, Josh Beck, Rio Campus Minister here!
Summer is usually the time to sit back and relax. However, the ROC staff and students are still hard at work. At the Ohio Valley Christian Assembly, several ROC students and I have volunteered to team up with the OVCA staff. Together, we have been diligently sharing the love and the word of Christ with these students. OVCA seeks to reach out to kids of all different ages. With that comes a need for staff. Here, it is all hands on deck to ensure the campers get everything they can from their week at camp.
Classes have ended, yet the ROC students and staff are not done serving God’s kingdom. One of our students and Victoria, our interim director, are in New Orleans this summer, serving as Crossroads interns. We are so blessed that God has lit a fire in their hearts to take time out of their summer to serve the Lord and use them down there. As for me, I have been serving all over Ohio this summer. Once my wife and I returned from our honeymoon, we began our service at OVCA. We completed two weeks at camp. I served as dean for the seventh to ninth-grade camp. The following week, I served as assistant dean for Evan Lynch’s tenth to twelve grade week. My wife aided as kitchen staff.
With August around the corner, it is time for cookie outreach! Please feel free to make some cookies for the outreach! We have information for this event detailed on the Cookie Outreach flyer, pamphlet, and letter.
Through all of the craziness that the summer has held, we continue to give it all to God and praise Him for all He has done. We pray He continues to move throughout the year and the many years to come.
Signing off,
-Joshua Beck
