Reach Out on Campus is a community of people who seek to glorify Jesus Christ. We desire to put a spotlight on Jesus through our words and actions at Ohio University, the University of Rio Grande, and everywhere our students go from those places. You are welcome to join us anytime.
What is ROC?
ROC is a student organization at OU and the Rio. This means that we are student led and ran! The ROC staff exist to support our students in their mission of reaching their campus with the message of Jesus Christ. We do a variety of things throughout the semester to further this mission (check out the calendar). We enjoy one another and love hanging out, serving together, and exploring the life Jesus has given us together.
Where does the community meet?
ROC meets weekly on both campuses. We call our weekly community gatherings “Crosswalk.” CrossWalk is a time of fellowship, worship, teaching and prayer together.
ROC at Rio Meeting Details…
Crosswalk happens on Tuesday evenings at 6:30pm at Rio in Bob Evan’s Farms Hall room 111.
ROC at OU Meeting Details…
At OU Crosswalk happens on Wednesday evenings at 7pm in Bentley Hall room 132 (across the Street from Copeland Hall or just above the bridge on Richland near the free expression wall).
Where to find ROC outside of regular meeting times…
The community gathers weekly for small groups studies, lunches, and social gatherings at various times and places. Check out the current meeting times in the side bar to the right.
The community is found all over both campuses and even in places in between. Often we meet in the ROC House to hang out, or for ROC Lunch and Bible Study. The ROC House is a flat / suite located in Athens just off of campus (see directions below) near the campus gate. At Rio you can often catch us at local coffee shops and pizza places.
What is the ROC House? How do I get there?
The ROC House is the hub of operations for the community and the offices of the ROC staff. It is located on the corner of Court and Union streets at 50 S. Court Street suite C in Athens, OH (on the 3rd floor above the College Bookstore). The ROC House is often open and that’s where you may find Jean or Dodger most days of the week.
Who is Reach Out on Campus affiliated with?
ROC’s ministry is a partner ministry with the Association of College Ministries and is financially supported by individuals, ROC alumni and several churches that are part of the Christian churches and churches of Christ fellowship. While financially supported in part by churches of this fellowship, students and faculty members from a wide variety of church backgrounds make up the ROC family. We’re happy to have you join us for any of our worship, study, or social times together.
